My Motivation for Living a Christian Life

I can’t take credit for who I am today therefore, it behooves me to give credit where credit is due. According to Hebrews 12:2, Jesus is the author and finisher of my faith:

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;

who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross,

despising the shame and is set down at the right hand

of the throne of God.

Hebrews 12:2

Since childhood, I had this unfathomable desire for God beyond my years. But it took many more years for me to come into the knowledge of why, which then, I learned I was drawn by His Spirit. Perhaps this can explain why I was eager to be baptized (submerged) at the tender age of 9—and why I joined the youth choir and—why I continued pursuing the things of God. But this may very well prove my admiration—I had a crush on Jesus. This explains why I told my aunt that I love going to church.

I've come a long way since those humble beginnings.

My journey shifted to crying in the wilderness. I had just encountered a harsh reality. To seek comfort, I became entangled in the Word of God.

Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me;

for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

(Matthew 11:29-30)

Having grown in faith became my saving grace. Now, in Him, I live, move, and have my being.

Nevertheless, I developed a voracious appetite for the things of God. It keeps me grounded. Beyond the local church, I seek spiritual inspiration from other sources, like radio and TV ministries. My knack for hearing the word of God caused me to line-up Pastors that I can glean from each Sunday, beginning with my very own Pastor.

Blessed are they which do hunger

and thirst after righteousness:

for they shall be filled.
